Inchies

Les Katzmaniaques“, the Katzelkraft challenge blog, wants us to create inchies as a background for one image that gets the focus. This is my 4×4 card:

Both the purple square containing 9 inchies and the butterfly have been mounted on 3d tape. The green backgrounds have been created using Distress inks and water. The butterfly has been heat embossed and painted with Twinkling H2Os. All stamps are Katzelkraft, except the sentiment (Hero Arts).

Girly Stampotique ATC

The past fortnight Stampotique wanted to see “girly girl” themed creations. Not exactly my cup of tea, but I’m always in for a challenge. When I think of “girly”, I think of pinkish and purplish colours and lots of glitter and bling.

So here she is, my “girly” Moth Fab:

I’d also would like to enter this ATC to “Lots to Do” who’d like to see our favourite technique.

I’ve been creating a whole series of Stampotique ATCs using this technique… I heat embossed the girl on black  cardstock, painted her with bleach and then I painted her clothes and hair using Perfect Pearls (mixed with water).

For the background I used another of my favourite techniques: I painted it with Twinkling H2Os. Then I stamped the dots in white ink and heat embossed them using holographic embossing powder.  I finished my ATC by adding some girlish baubles.

And last but not least, I created a special edge. Therefore, I’d also like to enter this ATC to the Rainbow Lady‘s “Edge it” challenge.

Smeared and smudged

Haunted Design House Macabre Monday wants to see smeared and smudged cards. Barb challenged us to sponge, distress and get inky. I didn’t do any of those, but I did create a rather smeared and smudged ATC using twinkling H2O paints and black, white and red embossing powders.  I hope that’s alright too. Here it is:

The scan doesn’t do it much justice, I’m afraid. In real life there’s a nice shine to the twinkling H2Os background.  I think the ATC is rather creepy, even for my doing, but at the same time the skull’s soooo funny. I didn’t use any Smeared & Smudged stamps, as I haven’t any in my stash yet, but their series of Li’l Grumpies definitely are on my wish list. The stamps I did use are StampItCrazy (skull) and Tim Holtz (sentiment & cobweb).

Do you think the spider will survive this hungry fella???

More Halloween ATCs

I’m still enjoying playing with Halloween stamps and colours. The past few weeks I’ve been creating a series of Twinkling H2Os Halloween ATCs. I created two more this weekend.  I painted the backgrounds using Twinkling H2Os and heat embossed the images.

I’d like to enter them to the following challenges:

Stamps used

  • Spiderweb: Inkadinkado
  • Witch:  Gaïa
  • Cauldron & mouse: Cherry Pie
  • Magic Happens: Scrolls Work

Stamps used

  • Frog: Inkadinkado
  • Witch:  Third Coast

Here’s another view of them (it’s hard to capture their bling and their real colours)

New feature on Gingersnap Creations

I am participating in a Gingersnap Creations Creative Connection. I heard about this month’s GCCC – Haunted – from a Ginger of http://gingersnapcreations.blogspot.com. Why not play along? Post a creation to your blog mentioning my post and the Creative Connection post on Gingersnap Creations. Let’s all craft it forward and see how far we can get this connection to go!

So here’s my take:

The background was created with Twinkling H2Os and the collage was heat embossed in black.

Stamps used

  • Iron wire, crow, bats, spiderweb: Tim Holtz
  • Haunted: Oxford Impressions

Here’s the fifth ATC I’d like to share with you in this Blog Hop:

This is my take on the Daring Cardmakers “There’s something in the air” challenge. Again a twinkling H2Os background, but I used another colour combo this time.

The fifth letter you’ll need is “T“. Now fly over to the sixth and final stop!

Stamps used

  • Bats, spiderweb: Tim Holtz
  • Flying witch: Third Coast
  • Take wing : Scrolls Work

Halloween Blog Hop – Post 4

Welcome to post 4 of my Halloween Blog Hop. If you’d like to win one of my Halloween ATCs, read the instructions in this post.

Here’s the fourth ATC I’d like to share with you in this Blog Hop:

I’d like to enter this ATC to the Darkness Inspiration “Witches” challenge and to the Irish Teddy’s “Make your own background” challenge. If you followed my Blog Hop, you’ll already know that I created this background using Twinkling H2Os. Unfortunately you can’t really see sparkle on scanned images, but believe me,  the ATCs sparkle a lot more in real life.

The fourth letter you get from me is “U“. You’ll be cast to the next Blog Hop post by clicking here!
