Moon

I’ve made a number of ATCs for a swap currently hosted on the ATCsForAll-forum. The theme of that swap is ‘Dictionary words’ and one of the dictionary words I chose to illustrate is the French word ‘Lune’.

Since ‘moon’ is also the current challenge theme @ Take a word, I’d like to enter the following atc into their challenge.

A Christmas fairy in non traditional x-mas colours

Stampotique wanted to see  x-mas cards in non-traditional colours (i.e. no red and no green) and Sunday Postcard Art wanted to see Christmas fairies. Here’s my take on both challenges:

The scan doesn’t really show the fairy’s pink skin and the purple bling of its wings.

Here’s a more detailed picture:

The background was made using broken china distress stain and pearl acrylic paint dabber and the moon and the stars were embossed and painted with perfect pearls.

Stained glass window

Creavil wants to see transparencies. I used one to create this stained glass ATC:

I heat embossed the stained window (Katzelkraft) on a transparency in black and I coloured the image using alcohol inks. I put a white paper behind it, so the colours are more intense. To create the background of my atc I used blue Glimmer mist and Perfect Pearls Mists and I heat embossed the stars and the moon in gold.

Celestial ATCs with bling

Hello there! Today, I’d like to share some ATCs with you. Last week I bought some zodiac themed postage stamps and they inspired me into making a series of 12 ATCs. As there’s some bling involved, the scan of the complete series did not turn out very good, so I will start showing you two individual ATCs to make it easier for you to grasp the detail:

The backgrounds have been sprayed with glimmer mists and perfect pearls mists. On the blue cards I also spattered some silver Mica Gloss. The zodiac sign (Cherry Pie), sun, moon, stars and sentiment (Hero Arts) have been stamped with Versamark and heat embossed in either silver or gold. On each of the ATCs, the image of the zodiac sign has been covered with Versamark and heat embossed at least twice using clear embossing powder, so as to render it in a kind of medaillon. This is also hard to see on scan.

This is my entry for the following challenges:

More winged creatures

Well, here’s my final ATC for The Stamp Man’s ATC swap. I bet most people asociate the theme “wings” with birds, butterflies, dragonflies and fairies, but how ’bout bats? I adore halloween inspired stamps, so any excuse to play with them will do! You can find my other entries for the Stamp Man  swap here and here.

I would like to submit this atc to Nans’ Darkness Inspiration challenge “Monsters”. I know, bats and owls are hardly to be called monsters, but that’s the best I could come up with … I guess bats CAN be pretty scary if you meet them in the middle of a dark wood in a full moon night !

I also would like to enter this ATC to Inspiration Avenue “Clouds”. I just love it when dark clouds are obscuring a bright full moon!

Stamps used

  • Owl: Oxford Impressions
  • Bat, moon and sentiment: Cherry Pie
  • Trees: Stampinback

Once in a blue moon …

you look at the sky

and you see

a dark witch

flying by.

Here’s an ATC that I would like to enter to the following challenges:

The witch (Third Coast), the bats (Make your Mark) and the sentiment (Cherry Pie) where heat embossed in black. The background was brayered. The dark clouds are part of a Cherry Pie moon stamp and they were stamped with black Stazon on glossy paper.

Sorry for combining so many challenges, but I’m pretty sure that I won’t be able to get any more  crafting done the weeks to come…

And my Stampotique frenzy continues

I hope you aren’t fed up with my Stampotique frenzy yet… Here’s another sparkly Stampotique ATC that I’d like to share with you.  It’s Gooseneck and, this time, I didn’t chop off the poor girl’s head, but I have to admit, I did have trouble restraining myself. I did cut off her legs, however, but that’s entirely the fault of her creators, for most of the lovely stampotique girls and boys are too big to be used on ATCs.

The scan really doesn’t do her much justice, I’m afraid.

Here’s a close-up:

In reality, the background and gold embossing powder are sparkly and the gems are very subtle.

I sprayed the background with blue and purple Glimmer Mist. I stamped the moon and various stars with versamark and heat embossed them in gold. I painted the inside of the moon with sunflower perfect pearls (mixed with water). I stamped Gooseneck on black paper and heat embossed her, bleached the inside of the image, cut it out  and painted it with perfect pearls.

I’d like this ATC to:
