Fairy wonderland

Wicked Wednesday ATC challenge wants us to create a fairy wonderland. Here’s my atc:

ATC_WhimsicalFairyHouses

Every fairy wonderland needs a bit of bling, so I added some Diamond Stickles:

You don’t need to be a fairy …

Daring Cardmakers wants us to be inspired by fairy tales and Stampootique challenges us to create a textured background. Here’s my entry:

GessoCrayonsTechniek_VoorAli

I created this textured background with gesso and used wax crayons to apply colour. I rubbed silver ink on the raised parts of the gesso, but unfortunately that’s not very obvious on scan. I really like this Dutch sentiment: in English it reads ‘You don’t need to be a fairy to perform miracles’.

Stamps used

  • Girl+sentiment:  Inkerbell stamps
  • Circles: Stampers Anonymous
  • Stars: Lavinia
  • Twig: Inkadinkado

Moon

I’ve made a number of ATCs for a swap currently hosted on the ATCsForAll-forum. The theme of that swap is ‘Dictionary words’ and one of the dictionary words I chose to illustrate is the French word ‘Lune’.

Since ‘moon’ is also the current challenge theme @ Take a word, I’d like to enter the following atc into their challenge.

Longing for sunshine

We’re probably all dreaming of a white Christmas here in Belgium, but we’re only getting rain, rain and more rain!  This foul weather really makes me long for bright and sunny days, so I thought it’d be fun to show you one of my springtime/summer projects.

Shiny fairies

‘Do you believe in fairies?’ is this fortnight’s theme over at ‘Fun with ATCs‘ and Hels over at  ‘Sunday Stampers‘ wants to see something shiny. It was an excellent excuse for me to try out the new Brilliance inks I’ve recently bought:

Unfortunately, the subtle sparkle of the Brilliance inks is hard to capture on scan.

Stamps used

  • Fairies, flowers: Lavinia
  • Sentiment: Quietfire
  • Script background: Darkroom Door

3 flowers and fairy silhouettes

The Less is more challenge focuses on 1 layer cards featuring ‘3 of something’ and the Cheerful Stamp Pad wants to see silhouettes. Here’s a fairy silhouette card featuring 3 flowers and 3 colours of Distress ink (Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint, Broken China):

I decided to create a matching envelope:

Thanks for looking!

Fairy

I’m on holiday and I didn’t bring my crafting supplies, but I do have my laptop, a powerful internet connection and a number of cards that I haven’t shared on my blog  yet. Here’s one of my recent cards (that I created for this lady):

The sentiment is Dutch but in English it would be something like  ‘You don’t have to be a fairy to perform miracles’. So true! All stamps are by ‘Inkerbell stamps’.

I’d like to enter this fair(l)y simple card into the following challenges:

Thanks for looking!

Glorious green garden atc

The weather has been dreary the last couple of days, so I’m sure you don’t mind me sharing this glorious green garden ATC. As I live in the city, I don’t actually have a garden, but I’m sure if I had one it would not only be populated with insects, snails, butterflies or hedgehogs…

The resist background was made with wax paper.

This is my entry for the following challenges:

  • Fairies and butterfly: Lavinia
  • Flowers: Katzelkraft

A Christmas fairy in non traditional x-mas colours

Stampotique wanted to see  x-mas cards in non-traditional colours (i.e. no red and no green) and Sunday Postcard Art wanted to see Christmas fairies. Here’s my take on both challenges:

The scan doesn’t really show the fairy’s pink skin and the purple bling of its wings.

Here’s a more detailed picture:

The background was made using broken china distress stain and pearl acrylic paint dabber and the moon and the stars were embossed and painted with perfect pearls.
