One of the ladies of the yahoo-group ‘Creatief met Stempels‘ challenged us to create a clean and simple (CAS) card focusing on music. I combined this challenge with the CAS-challenge ‘Less is more‘, who wants to see a one layer card featuring stripes.
This card also fits the challenge ‘Music’s in in the air’ set by Irish Teddy’s.
And here’s another triptych ATC for the song swap @ Creatief met stempels. This one’s inspired by ‘Solitary’, a song by VNV Nation that you can listen to in this post.

Again, I did some sponging, stamping and some heat embossing. I also did a bit of splattering with water. At the back of the arch, I incorporated a tag with my personal info.
I’d like to enter this atc to the following challenges:
Sunday Stampers’ Hels wants to see sentiments this week. Here’s an ATC featuring one of my favourite Tim Holtz sentiment and his notorious umbrella man. The buildings in the background are by Oxford Impressions.
I used torn paper as a mask for sponging the blue rectangle in the middle of my page
I masked off the blue rectangle before stamping the water drops
I created a mask for the umbrella before stamping the buildings as a background.
I came across quite a couple of journaling blogs, where we’ve been asked to choose 1 word to describe our goals in 2011. Well, mine would be ‘change’… Although, I was perfectly happy in 2010, there are a few things I would like to achieve this year (see also my 1st journal page). I think this journal page also perfectly fits the prompt that was offered by Rachel of ‘A year in the life of an art journal‘.
Again, I’ve been inspired by one sentence that’s a part of a song called “Solitary” by a band called VNV Nation. You can listen if you want:
I’m finally catching up with my gothic arches for Inkurable Stampers! Here’s my entry for the theme “numbers“.
As I created this colourful background and coloured the lovely umbrella girl with Distress inks, this will also be my entry “Simon Says stamp and show your Distress inks“. I just love the way Distress inks react to water!
