Triptych ATC ‘If rain brings winds of change’

And here’s another triptych ATC for the song swap @ Creatief met stempels. This one’s inspired by ‘Solitary’, a song by VNV Nation that you can listen to in this post.

Again, I did some sponging, stamping and some heat embossing. I also did a bit of splattering with water. At the back of the arch, I incorporated a tag with my personal info.

I’d like to enter this atc to the following challenges:

Stamps used

  • Umbrella man: Katzelkraft
  • Buildings: Oxford Impressions
  • Waterdrops: A Capella
  • Flourish: Darkroom Door.

The Stamp Man ATC Swap update

Here are the gorgeous Steampunk ATCs I received today. First of all, I’d like to thank ALL brave ladies who participated, for it’s not an easy theme!

The ATC I received are created by:

  • Top left: Sue The Iron (the scan doesn’t do it justice, but it’s a really gorgeous textured background, I’d love to find out how it’s made!)
  • Top right: Esther (beautiful winged heart on a silver and copper background, love the silver embossing)
  • Bottom: Joan Wilcockson (love the vintage look in shades of brown & the balloon is a wonderful eye-catcher).

Thanks ladies!

Here are my ATCs for this month’s theme “Wise words“:

All stamps by Tim Holtz, except for the buildings in the backgound (They belong to the Oxford Impressions Steampunk sheet).

Focus on a sentiment

Sunday Stampers’ Hels wants to see sentiments this week. Here’s an ATC featuring one of my favourite Tim Holtz sentiment and his notorious umbrella man. The buildings in the background are by Oxford Impressions.

Thanks for looking!

Journal page: winds of change

The past few weeks, it’s been raining non-stop over here, so I felt like chosing “rain” as a theme for my journal page.

I’d like to enter this page to Simon Says Stamp and Show Some Masking.  This page involves several types of masking:

  • I used torn paper as a mask for sponging the blue rectangle in the middle of my page
  • I masked off the blue rectangle before stamping the water drops
  • I created a mask for the umbrella before stamping the buildings as a background.

I came across quite a couple of journaling blogs, where we’ve been asked to choose 1 word to describe our goals in 2011. Well, mine would be ‘change’… Although, I was perfectly happy in 2010, there are a few things I would like to achieve this year (see also my 1st journal page). I think this journal page also perfectly fits the prompt that was offered by Rachel of ‘A year in the life of an art journal‘.

Again, I’ve been inspired by one sentence that’s a part of a song called “Solitary” by a band called VNV Nation. You can listen if you want:

Stamps used

  • Umbrella man (left): Tim Holtz
  • Buildings: Oxford Impressions
  • Waterdrops: A Capella
  • Umbrella man (right): Katzelkraft
  • Various brands of letter stamps

Gothic arch “numbers”

I’m finally catching up with my gothic arches for Inkurable Stampers! Here’s my entry for the theme “numbers“.

As I created this colourful background and coloured the lovely umbrella girl with Distress inks, this will also be my entry “Simon Says stamp and show your Distress inks“. I just love the way Distress inks react to water!

Stamps used

  • Umbrella girl, numbered floor, swirls: Art Journey
  • Numbers: Inkadinkado
