My favourite horror story + giveaway (closed)

Here’s my ode to ‘The Raven’ by Edgar Allan Poe.

I used Distress Stains for the background. For the second raven I used the stamped kissing technique.

I’d like to enter these ATCs to the following challenges:

Stamps and products used

  • Oxford Impressions: raven, nevermore
  • Third Coast: book
  • Lost Coast: lettering in the book
  • Tim Holtz: cobweb and letter die
  • Darkroom door: swirl (used for stamp kissing)

Gothic Arch The Raven

Still catching up on my Inkurable Stampers gothic arches! So here’s another one:

No this is not my entry for the theme “Spooky”, it’s my interpretation of the theme “birds”. As you can see, I’m always in for a “creepy” interpretation of any theme.

This is my ode to E.A. Poe inspired by this beautiful song of one of my favourite bands “Omnia”:

I’d like to submit this gothic arch to the following challenges:

I used the acrylic bloc stamping technique to create the background and there’s a lot of stamping and masking going on on this arch.

Stamps used

  • Candle: Stempelwinkel
  • Cobweb, collage frame, design scrap: Tim Holtz
  • Text Background: Lost Coast design
  • Raven, Poe & Nevermore: Oxford Impressions
  • Book: Third Coast
  • Frame: Stamp Francisco

Raven

There have been so many challenge themes I really looooooove lately! Here’s my ATC for TMTA “Raven” and for Inspiration Avenue “Books”.

I sponged the background with Antique Linnen, Vintage Photo and Rusty Hinge Distress inks.

I stamped and masked the following stamps to create a stamped collage:

  • Candle (Stempelwinkel)
  • Raven & cobweb (Oxford Impressions)
  • Book (Third Coast Rubber Stamps)
  • Gothic Text (Lost Coast Designs).

I cut some bits and pieces out of my ATC base to create my favourite shape. I added a finishing touch by inking the borders with gold metallic ink (which is not visible on the scan).

EDIT:

After I’d finished the previous ATC, I still felt something was missing. I always do when there’s no sentiment… Anyway, when I was browsing through my stamps, I came across an Oxford Impressions word stamp spelling “nevermore” and that was just exactly what I needed. So I added this “final touch” in the top left corner.

I think my ATC is more in balance now. Hope you feel the same way!
