Lightbeam atc

A couple of months ago I bought a wonderful interactive children’s book about underwater life and I immediately knew this would inspire me to create some interactive atcs based on the same ‘lightbeam’ principle :

ATC_Lightbeam

I stamped the sea animals on acetate and coloured them with alcohol inks. I adhered the acetate to a blue gelliprint background using eyelets. I put a white piece of cardstock inbetween to create a kind of diver’s lightbeam.

This is my entry for the following challenges:

Stamps used

  • Sea slug, starfish, sea plants: Oxford impressions
  • Fish: Stampinback
  • Octopet: Stampotique

Fish anyone?

I’ve finally found time and inspiration to join the Stamp Man ATC Swaps again! This month’s theme is ‘The Ocean’ and these are the ATCs I sent in:

All stamps are Oxford Impressions. I’d also like to enter these ATCs to the ‘Fishy’ challenge over at the Order of the Opus Gluei.

And now let’s hope that these ATCs will reach the Stamp Man in time, for I did not only send them in fashionably late,  I also forgot to add an Air Mail sticker… so they might be shipped to the UK by boat instead …

Shells

In half an hour I will be heading to the UK for my best friend’s wedding. Of course I wanted to create a card for this wonderful occasion and I found inspiration in their wedding invitation to create a unique card for them.

This is their wedding invitation:

This is the card I came up with

The shells (Oxford Impressions) were stamped with Versamark on silver cardstock. The seahorses (Oxford Impressions) were embossed in silver embossing powder and I added some splashes of silver ink. I had to mirror one of the seahorses by means of a sheet of acetate.

This is the inside of the card

I love that sentiment by Crafty Individuals!

I also created a matching envelope

For the envelope I stamped the shell with Versamark and I added Perfect Pearls (unfortunately, the scan doesn’t do it much justice).

I’d like to enter this card and envelope to 3 challenges:

Sea / beach for Crazy Amigo

This week’s theme at Crazy Amigo is “sea/beach“.  Here’s my ATC.

I used an encaustic wax background. I stamped the seahorse on a “moo”, masked it, stamped the second one, masked it too and finally stamped the marble background. I coloured the seahorses with distress ink using a water pen.  I punched a tag out of a semi-transparant design paper singling out a sentiment  and spunged the edges of the tag. As it was very hard to read the text on the semi-transparant paper,  I decided to add a white tag behind it on which the marble background was stamped.
